Your apartment moving cost depends on factors, such as the type and size of your property, the complexity of your move, the number of bedrooms, the volume of your items, zip code, etc. At SOS Moving, we offer flat and hourly rates. The hourly rate depends on the number of movers to be involved and the size of the moving truck. Flat rate is based on the volume of belongings you need to move, and it’s the best option for long-distance moves. To know your moving cost, please contact us or submit a form on our website to request your free quote.
You should schedule your move date as early as you can. If you’re moving locally, at least 1-2 weeks in advance, for long-distance moves, we recommend getting a quote at least 2-4 weeks before your move date.
You can choose any convenient day for your relocation, and yes, we can help you move on weekends and holidays.
A safe relocation is our goal, so we’ll provide you with a detailed list of items that are prohibited to transport. It includes perishables, hazardous materials, firearms, batteries, etc. We also don’t recommend packing your personal and irreplaceable items, including family heirlooms, family photos, jewelry, documents, etc. Carry them with you during the move.
We accept cash, all major debit and credit cards, and certified checks. We don’t accept personal checks. There will not apply any transaction fee on card transactions.

Reseda covers about 5.87 square miles of level Valley floor, and the Reseda–West Van Nuys community plan lists single-family housing as the area's dominant land use. SurveyLA, the city's historic resources survey, records several postwar tracts here: one-story ranch houses with front lawns, driveways with curb cuts, and attached or detached garages. One story means no stair carry, yet the longest carry stays on one level, from a back bedroom through the hall and living room out to the driveway. The crew lays floor runners along that path and pads the doorframes before the first dresser moves.
Apartments sit where the plan puts them. Higher-density housing is concentrated along Sherman Way, Tampa Avenue and Reseda Boulevard, where multi-family blocks buffer the commercial strips from the single-family streets behind them, so most Reseda apartment moving happens on, or one turn off, a busy boulevard. Our apartment moving crews bring the same pads and runners to the unit, the hallway and the stairwell.
Meadowlark Park, roughly between Lindley and Yarmouth Avenues and Lull and Stagg Streets, went up in 1953–54, partly to designs by architect Edward Fickett. SurveyLA notes its curving streets, mostly attached garages and carports, and houses with louvered and floor-to-ceiling windows. Glass walls change how long pieces travel, so headboards, mirrors and tabletops get fully padded and a second mover guides every turn near the windows.
Tampa Country Estates fills the blocks between Tampa and Corbin Avenues, from Victory Boulevard south to Topham Street. Apart from Friar Street, its streets curve, some end in cul-de-sacs, a few front lawns slope, and garages are both attached and detached. A cul-de-sac leaves a truck little room to turn, so we settle where it will stand before loading begins, and the dolly path follows the driveway rather than the lawn.
Reseda started in 1912 as the town of Marian and took its current name in 1921, and its business district still sits where Marian's did, at Reseda Boulevard and Sherman Way. The survey maps that core as four blocks along Reseda and five along Sherman Way: mostly one-story storefronts flush with the sidewalk, entered from the street, with little or no parking behind. A median down the middle of Sherman Way once carried Pacific Electric streetcars, so for a shop or office move we plan the truck on the storefront's side of it, and our commercial moving team loads through the front door.
| Reseda area or home type | What to plan for on moving day |
|---|---|
| Storefronts at Reseda Blvd and Sherman Way | Loading goes through the front door; there is little or no parking behind the shops, and the Sherman Way median decides which side the truck takes |
| Apartments on Sherman Way, Reseda Blvd and Tampa Ave | Boulevard curb out front; elevator time and COI questions go to the manager before the date is set |
| Meadowlark Park, Lindley Ave to Yarmouth Ave | One-story houses with floor-to-ceiling glass, curving streets, mostly attached garages and carports |
| Tampa Country Estates, Victory Blvd to Topham St | Cul-de-sacs with little turning room, some sloped front lawns, attached and detached garages |
| Reseda Mobile Home Park on Wilbur Ave | A single entrance off Wilbur Avenue and interior lanes; ask park management where a truck can stop |
Reseda is part of the City of Los Angeles, so temporary no-parking signs go through LADOT, and its Special Traffic Control Division is the contact for requesting them. State law sets the clock: California Vehicle Code section 22651(m) allows a tow from a temporary restriction like this once the signs have been up for at least 24 hours. On Reseda Boulevard and Sherman Way, which the community plan counts among the Valley's busiest streets, a reserved curb can decide whether the crew loads at your door or half a block away.
What helps most before a Reseda moving day:
All of our moving services in Reseda are dispatched from one place, our base at 5530 Jillson Street, about 31.4 miles away and around 40 minutes without traffic. The route is I-5 north to SR-134, then west on the Ventura Freeway; the last leg is usually Reseda Boulevard, which the community plan names the principal north-south route to both the 101 and the 118.
Weekday rush hours on the 134 and the 101 can stretch that drive well past 40 minutes. Our crews work Monday through Sunday, 8AM – 6PM, so a full Reseda house fits the day more comfortably on a weekend or with an early start.
Reseda sits right around our 30-mile line, so if you book local movers in Reseda, the minimum is 3 or 4 hours, depending on the address; the 4-hour minimum applies when the address is farther than 30 miles from our base. One more rate rule to know before you choose a date: double drive time applies to moves over 10 miles.
Northridge borders Reseda to the north, and Reseda Boulevard runs straight across the line, so a move between the two can be a single run up the boulevard. For moves on the Northridge side, see Northridge movers.
Encino shares a border with Reseda, and the drive from our base runs through it on the Ventura Freeway before the truck turns north toward Reseda. If one end of your move is in Encino, start with our Encino movers page.
Canoga Park began as Reseda's sister town: in 1912 the same land company laid out Marian and Owensmouth, today's Canoga Park, along one Pacific Electric line. Sherman Way, the old streetcar road, still connects the two; for the Canoga Park end, see Canoga Park movers.
