Not every job is a whole apartment. Sometimes it is a sectional going to a new place, a dresser headed to a relative across town, or a bedroom set that has to leave before a lease ends. SOS takes these on as local furniture movers, with the same hourly model as a full move, so you can check the cost against the table above line by line.
How it is billed. Two movers with a truck work at the hourly rate for that day, with the 3-hour minimum and the flat $30 gas fee. Our furniture moving service has no separate price per item: moving one piece of furniture and moving five on the same trip are both billed by the hour, and whatever fits into those hours can travel together.
What changes the crew. The heaviest piece decides how many people come. Anything over 300 lbs, such as a safe or a solid-wood armoire, adds $150 and needs a crew of three. A piano needs four movers and carries a $200 add-on; our piano moving page explains how that job works.
What to tell us when you book. List the pieces, give rough sizes for the largest ones and say which floor each address is on, whether there is an elevator and where the truck can stop. Couch movers need to hear about a tight stair turn before they arrive, not at the landing. The same goes for a single item: one wardrobe on a third floor without an elevator is worth describing in advance.
Since every booking carries its own 3-hour minimum, it pays to group pieces. If a dresser, a desk and a bookshelf are going to the same place, book them as one trip rather than three.

Every move includes white-glove service: moving blankets, shrink wrap, packing tape, wardrobe boxes, furniture disassembly/reassembly, TV unmounting, furniture placement, and unpacking assistance. Mileage, taxes, staircases, and multiple stops are included.
