"My office used SOS moving today and I was so impressed picking up files from storage. They were 10 minutes early to the warehouse 40 miles away, took time to wrap the pallets of boxes so nothing fell off, and worked hard and fast in the heat. "I just used SOS moving for a move and they were GREAT. Ilbert, Freddy, Juan, and Denis were so fast, professional, courteous, and easy to work with. They answered all of my questions and were super helpful. My items were in various stages of packed before they arrived--some were fully packed and some were not packed at all. They packed everything for me that I hadn't yet and moved everything. They also handled all my delicate items well too and super bubble wrapped my monitor so that it was safe when transporting. What is included in SOS Moving’s local moving service?
Every move includes white-glove service: moving blankets, shrink wrap, packing tape, wardrobe boxes, furniture disassembly/reassembly, TV unmounting, furniture placement, and unpacking assistance. Mileage, taxes, staircases, and multiple stops are included.
How far in advance should I book my local move?
1–2 weeks in advance recommended, especially during peak season (May–September, month-end). Same-day service available for emergencies. $50 deposit applied toward total cost.
Do you charge extra for stairs, long carries, or multiple stops?
No. These are included in our hourly rate. Only specialty items (piano: $200, heavy items 300+ lbs: $150) and $30 gas fee are additional.
What is Double Drive Time?
Per CPUC regulations, moves over 10 miles require Double Drive Time — driving time counted twice. This applies to all licensed California movers.
Are you licensed and insured?
